Made a visit to a Customer in Bicester Village. After a spate of faulty lines affecting many of our customers- BT Openreach decide to replacing a failing 200 pair main arterial cable. Lines would suddenly stop working and whilst this was not that important for voice calls it had serious consequences for the card terminals working off broadband and direct lines.
After numerous call outs , many on Saturdays and Sundays we advised them to switch out the routers for the Draytek Vigor 2860Ln fitted with a 2g/3g/4g SIM card and have it programmed to fail over mode. Due to metal shell of the buildings external antennas were fitted to provide a strong 4g signal. With this new 3G Routers setup when the lines cut off the 4g router starts uup and provides the iternet connect for the store including for the PDQs.
