We made a visit to Westfield Shopping Centre in London to complete a total telecoms audit. This involved Testing a few data cables and tidying the comms cab and removing unnecessarily long patch leads and telephone leads.
While completing the work on the Telephone line audit we were amazed to discover that the shop was paying for 11 BT Feature lines for voice on the same main number at £63 per quarter. Since FTTC was unavailable in these premises a VoIP solution was not recommended. Instead we converted their main number to a single ISDN2 and added their other numbers as SNDDIs (single number DDI) and installed a small digital telephone system. Net result in line rental they went from £2772 per annum to £318- a saving of nearly £2,500 p.a. The system paid for itself inside 6 months
