Visit made to fix a dead extension coming from an old telephone system connected to a TJF. The site has small office buildings spread out over a large area and the extensions are cabled over old telegraph poles. For this reason fuses are used on the krone disconnection strips to combat any damage from electrical storms or surges.

The issue was located with one of the fuses and once replace the extension was up and running again. In this setup a 21A fuse is inserted into a 5B Krone mount which can then be fitted directly into a standard 237A Krone strip. Having this at both termination ends will protect you PBX system and handsets from costly damage. Only replacing a fuse is better and cheaper than replacing a phone or a PBX system.
